This Friday marks the beginning of the Three Rivers Arts Festival, and Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zero’s are going to be the headliners! While many of us AmeriCorps members will not be able to attend (our retreat is this Friday!), they are still a band worth checking out. With their distinct sound of upbeat tunes and easy sing-a-long melodies, one can definitely feel uplifted after taking a listen. As an avid fan of live shows and acoustic sets, I wanted to share a couple of their performances here and here with you.
I’m also looking forward to Glen Hansard of the Swell Seasons and the Frames’, performance on June 12th. Many of you have probably heard the song Falling Slowly, the featured song from the film Once. Once stars Hansard and Markéta Irglová, and with Falling Slowly’s straight-forward lyrics and simple melody, it is sure to linger in your mind.
So if you’re looking for something fun to do in the next couple of weeks, the Three Rivers Arts Fest would be my first stop! There’s bound to be plenty of great music and art. Check out the schedule!
