Last Friday (May 10th) was the beginning of the Asian American Film festival. This festival is hosted by Silk Screen, a local nonprofit media arts organization with the mission of “educating communities about Asian American history, culture, experiences, and issues, fostering understanding across the lines of race and ethnicity, religion, age and region.” While the festival has already begun, there are plenty more films to see this weekend!
Highway, a film based in Nepal, centers around a group of passengers who get stuck in traffic because of a strike. As the film progresses you learn the history of several of the characters. It’s showing this Sunday at 2PM, in the Melwood Screening Room. Based on the trailer, it looks like it’s going to rather interesting!
